Jenna has been a well-rounded dancer for over twenty years and is the motivating force that drives the success of Dance Intensity. Her experience in the dance world and the entertainment industry has enabled her to create the utmost successful dance programs.
She was a professional NBA dancer for the Boston Celtics for three seasons and has performed in places like Beijing, China, Las Vegas and Walt Disney World! She was the Assistant Director for Starbound National Talent Competition and developed a love for teaching through years of being an instructor at studios, schools and camps.
With a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism, she has worked at "The Late Show with David Letterman", "The Maury Show", "The Meredith Vieira Show", "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" and "Nick Studio 10"! She was featured in the television series "90210", the reality series "The Dance for 18" and the film "Here Comes the Boom". She also took some classes in Early Childhood Education and taught at Tutor Time and Best Learning Center.
Jenna's strong passion for dance, entertainment and teaching is what finally led her to open up Dance Intensity and create a dance family of her own! She absolutely loves working with children and looks forward to helping her dancers become the best they can be!
Christie has been a dancer since the young age of three and is the backbone of the successful force of Dance Intensity. Her choreography achievements and passion for fitness has given us a powerful edge in creating the very best dance and barre programs!
Growing up she performed and competed in New York City and quickly developed a love for teaching. Her responsibility for many talented dancers has led to winning top overalls on both regional and national levels. Her choreography has also been recognized at prestigious competitions such as Jump, Sheer Talent and Hall of Fame Dance Challenge!
She was a dancer for the St. John's University Dance Team, as well as the Stony Brook University Dance Team. She completed her Bachelor's Degree in Health Science and is currently completing her Master's Degree.
Christie's love for dance, health and fitness has enabled her to create the career path that she has always dreamed of. She hopes to inspire many of her students and help them chase their dreams, no matter what they may be!
HEATHER, BALLET DIRECTOR
Heather has been a dance instructor, choreographer and mentor for young dancers in both recreational and competitive dance classes for over fifteen years. She holds a degree in education and works with children during the day.
She has an extremely strong background in Ballet and Pointe, as well as Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Contemporary. Her choreography has won at many dance competitions and she has had experience teaching in Florida, Tennessee, New Jersey and now, New York!
She also holds her Vinyasa Yoga Certification through Yoga Alliance and enjoys teaching Yoga classes at Dance Intensity!
Lauren has been dancing since she was 2.5 years old. She danced competitively from the ages of 11 through 18 and was a member of several award winning teams. Lauren also competed as a member of the Smithtown Varsity Kickline team which has been awarded numerous national championships. As an adult, she has continued her career in movement through various mind-body trainings and certifications including her 200-hr yoga teacher training through Yoga Alliance and a Pilates mat certification through the Pilates Method Alliance. Lauren loves teaching both children and adults and also teaches barre fitness classes at DANCEintensity.
Maria was heavily influenced by the art of dance since the age of 3. Growing up she practiced at various dance schools and competed in solos, small groups, large groups and productions. She was taught numerous styles of dance, with hip hop and tap being her favorites. Maria began her school dance career as a sixth grader on the Commack Middle School Danceline Team and was eventually selected as a member of the Commack Varsity Cougarettes in high school. She is so thankful that with dance she could be part of a team that consisted of her friends who turned into her family. Maria is currently studying Elementary Education and Spanish at the College of New Jersey and is so happy to be part of the DANCEintensity Staff!
Danielle recently completed her Bachelor's Degree in Dance at Hunter College and has been dancing since the young age of three. She is well experienced in all genres of dance and has performed and competed throughout Long Island, New York City and Los Angeles! She has choreographed many great dance pieces throughout her school experience and continues to find ways to enhance her dance career. Throughout her experiences she has discovered her passion for teaching and hopes to pass on her knowledge and influence her students in ways that only DANCEintensity can offer!
Jessica began dancing at the age of two and couldn't be happier to say that dance still holds such an important role in her life. She performed and competed in New York City for years with several appearances in Disney World, Hershey Park, and more! She has studied Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Hip Hop and is also theatrically trained. By the age of 11, she discovered that she had a real love for Musical Theatre. To this day, she performs in many different theatrical productions across Long Island. Her goal now is to combine her two loves and create a fun environment for her students at DANCEintensity.
DANCE INTENSITY is extremely excited about our brand new dance studio located in the center of Commack, Dix Hills and East Northport and looks forward to providing exceptional technical training for students in a positive environment for many years to come! We are setting our expectations high and are dedicated to providing children in the community with a place to learn, develop and appreciate their love of dance, as well as ensure that they continuously progress and reach their full potential. Our classes are not only professional and fun friendly, but focus on responsibility, dependability, punctuality, teamwork and respect for others. Dance Intensity's mission is to provide their students with not only the technical dance skills and experience needed to pursue a professional dance career but more importantly, arm them with the essential life skills that will lead to success in whatever they pursue!
Nicolette began dancing at the young age of 2 years old. Her passion for dance grows more and more each year. Nicolette studied at Nadia’s Performing Arts Center and was apart of their competition team, studying ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, hip-hop, contemporary and musical theater. She than continued her studies at Frank Sinatra School of The Arts as a dance major. She had the privilege to perform at the Metropolitan Opera House, her junior year of high school. Nicolette has had the privilege to assist professional dancer Courtney Galiano on many occasions. She is now in her senior year of college, and will be graduating with an education degree and minor in dance.
Jillian has been dancing since the young age of three years old. She has been a competitive dancer for over ten years and a competitive kickline dancer for 6 years. Jillian received her Bachelor’s Degree in Inclusive Special Education and a minor in Children with Exceptionalities from SUNY Cortland. Jillian was a member of the Cortland dance team for four years where she served as a captain her last two years on the team. Jillian has also been the summer dance director at The Knox School for over three years. Her favorite dance styles are tap, jazz, and hip-hop!
Erica is from Amityvilly, NY. She just graduated from LIU Post where she was on the LIU Post dance team. The team ranked 4th in the Nation this year in both Jazz and Hip Hop! During her college career she also danced for The New York Cosmos Professional soccer team! She can't wait to share her love and knowledge of dance with DANCEintensity!
